We often give your child advice and instructions "keep your Book and desk tidy", " hold your water bottle carefully", "dress neatly". The list is in endless. But have you ever wondered - is it enough to only give children instructions? when you give them advise on what to do, have you thought of telling them how to do it too? These pointers will assist you with this.
Do it together
Whatever you want to teach your child is better achieved if you teach it to a participatory game. If you want him to arrange his books tell him that both of you will do it together. Make it into a game, by telling him to start this books size wise. Also just ask you join in your child's game, make the child feel important by allowing him to help you out in small ways. For instance you can ask the child to arrange the spoons or wipe the glasses for you when you are doing the dishes.
Tell them how to
The first thing you must do whenever you instruct your child to do something, is to explain to him how to do it. When you tell your child to keep his books neatly, tell him how this should be done. Show him how the books are arranged neatly on the table. Give the children the feeling that it is there responsibility to keep their belongings spick and span.
